Sweet and Tart Strawberry Salad

Ingredients
1 1/2 pounds fresh strawberries, rinsed and sliced
2 1/2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Directions
In a large bowl, toss berries with sugar and let stand at room temperature for 10 minutes.
In a small bowl, combine the vinegar and pepper. Pour over berries and toss to coat. Divide berries among 4 serving bowls and serve. Enjoy!

hehe that's a lot of strawberries! thanks for this great post. i just have a few questions. can we make this without balsamic vinegar and ground black pepper. also will this work with other fruit because this seems like something cool that could work with any fruit!

Alison, you can probably make this without vinegar and it won't work at all. Alos with the pepper, just putting a little bit in will add some more flavor without really hurting you so I guessing that's a good idea. Other than that have fun with the recipee and good luck!

Really looking like a nice recipee. Hanny your first sentence part is confusing and I think you meant to say that it would work without without vinegar. I myself recommend adding some vinegar and pepper even if just a very small amount to help a lot with the flavor. Thanks for your post!
