Peanut Pesto Flatbread Pizza - Iola - 05-20-2012 02:13 AM [attachment=632] Ingredients 1 tablespoon Crisco® Pure Olive Oil 2 cups sliced red onion 2 tablespoons brown sugar 1/8 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup Jif® Natural Creamy Peanut Butter Spread 1/4 cup prepared herb pesto sauce 4 (8 inch) flatbreads or pitas 1/2 pound mild Italian sausage, cooked and crumbled 1/2 cup crumbled goat cheese 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil [hide]Directions Heat oven to 400 degrees F. Heat oil in large skillet over medium heat. Add onions; cook 10 minutes. Reduce heat to low. Stir in brown sugar and salt. Cook one additional minute; remove from heat. Combine peanut butter and pesto in small bowl. Place flatbreads on large baking sheet. Spread 3 tablespoons peanut butter mixture on each flatbread. Top with sausage, onions and cheese. Bake 10 to 12 minutes, or until cheese is melted. Sprinkle with basil. Cut each pizza into 8 slices before serving.[/hide] |
